{"id":447,"date":"2026-03-26T09:42:21","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T09:42:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greatbritishsites.co.uk\/?page_id=447"},"modified":"2026-03-26T09:42:21","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T09:42:21","slug":"terms-conditions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/greatbritishsites.co.uk\/?page_id=447","title":{"rendered":"Terms &amp; Conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>GB Sites Ltd (trading as Great British Sites)<\/strong> Last Updated: March 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>About us<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>These terms and conditions govern your use of our services and your agreement with GB Sites Ltd, trading as Great British Sites, a website design, hosting and SEO company registered in England and Wales.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email: <a href=\"mailto:admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk\">admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk<\/a> Address: [Your registered address] Companies House Registration: <strong>17106182<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Our Services<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We provide the following services:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Website design and development <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Website hosting on our private server <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic search engine optimisation (SEO) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Domain purchase and management on your behalf <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ongoing content management (We Manage It package) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>WordPress account access for self-managed content (You Manage It package)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Agreement Process<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3.1 When you submit an enquiry via our contact form, we will respond within 24 hours to discuss your requirements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3.2 Before development begins, we will provide you with a demo of the header and hero section of your proposed website via screenshot for your approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3.3 Development will only begin once you have approved the demo and your first monthly payment has been successfully processed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3.4 By proceeding with payment, you agree to these terms and conditions in full.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Payments<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4.1 Our services are charged on a monthly subscription basis. Your first payment is taken prior to development beginning and acts as confirmation of your order.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4.2 Payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your card or payment details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4.3 Monthly payments will continue automatically on your billing date each month until you cancel in accordance with clause 5.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4.4 All prices are as stated on our website at the time of your enquiry. We reserve the right to amend pricing with 30 days written notice to existing clients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4.5 If a payment fails, we will notify you and allow [X days \u2014 suggest 7] to resolve the issue. If payment is not received within this period, we reserve the right to suspend your website until payment is made.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4.6 We do not offer refunds once development has begun. Your first payment confirms your order and authorises us to commence work on your project.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4.7 In the event of a failed or disputed payment, we ask that you contact us at <a href=\"mailto:admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk\">admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk<\/a> before raising a dispute or chargeback with your bank or payment provider. By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge that raising a chargeback without first contacting us constitutes a breach of this agreement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4.8 If an account remains unpaid beyond the 7 day grace period outlined in clause 4.5, your website will be suspended. If payment is not received within a further 14 days, we reserve the right to terminate the agreement and take your website offline. Any outstanding balance must be settled before your domain will be transferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cancellation<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5.1 You may cancel your subscription at any time by providing 30 days written notice to <a href=\"mailto:admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk\">admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5.2 Notice is deemed received on the date we confirm receipt by email. We will acknowledge your cancellation request within 2 business days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5.3 You will continue to be billed during your 30 day notice period. No refunds will be issued for any portion of a monthly payment already taken.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5.4 Following the end of your notice period, your website will be taken offline and your hosting agreement will end.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5.5 In the event that GB Sites Ltd needs to terminate your agreement \u2014 for example due to closure of the business or discontinuation of a service \u2014 we will provide you with 30 days written notice. During this period we will provide you with a copy of your website content and transfer your domain to a registrar of your choice at no charge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5.6 If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, we ask that you contact us at <a href=\"mailto:admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk\">admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk<\/a> before taking any further action. We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 business days and aim to resolve it within 14 days. We are committed to resolving issues fairly and reasonably.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Complaints<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>6.1 If you have a complaint regarding our services, please contact us in writing at <a href=\"mailto:admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk\">admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk<\/a> with full details of your concern.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6.2 We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 business days and aim to provide a full response within 14 days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6.3 We ask that you allow us the opportunity to resolve any dispute before escalating to a third party, your payment provider, or legal counsel. Failure to do so may affect our ability to offer goodwill resolutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Your Content and Intellectual Property<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>7.1 Any content you supply to us \u2014 including text, images, logos, and branding materials \u2014 remains your property at all times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7.2 Upon cancellation or conclusion of your agreement, you may request a copy of your website content (text and images). We will provide this within 10 business days of your request at no additional charge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7.3 Our design work, custom code, theme customisation, and any proprietary elements we create remain the intellectual property of GB Sites Ltd unless otherwise agreed in writing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7.4 By supplying content to us, you confirm that you own the rights to that content or have permission to use it, and that its use on your website does not infringe any third party rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7.5 Where your project requires third party resources such as stock images, premium plugins, or specialist tools, these will be discussed and agreed with you in advance. Any associated costs will be your responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Domain Names<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>8.1 Where we purchase a domain name on your behalf, the domain belongs to you. The cost of the domain will be included in or added to your monthly agreement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7.2 Where you transfer an existing domain to our hosting environment, that domain remains your property at all times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7.3 Upon cancellation of your agreement, we will transfer your domain to a registrar of your choice within 10 business days. We will not withhold or retain your domain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7.4 If you request a domain transfer during an active agreement, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable administration fee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong> Hosting and Server Access<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>8.1 Your website will be hosted on our private server within the United Kingdom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>8.2 Clients are not granted direct access to our hosting server at any time, for the security of all websites we manage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>8.3 We will take reasonable steps to ensure your website remains online and accessible. In the event of planned maintenance or downtime, we will endeavour to notify you in advance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>8.4 We cannot guarantee 100% uptime and are not liable for losses arising from temporary service interruptions beyond our reasonable control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong> Website Management<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>We Manage It package:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>9.1 Under this package, all content changes must be requested by contacting us at <a href=\"mailto:admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk\">admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>9.2 We will endeavour to action content change requests within [X business days \u2014 suggest 3-5].<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>9.3 Excessive or unreasonable content change requests may be subject to additional charges, which we will notify you of before proceeding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>You Manage It package:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>9.4 Under this package, a WordPress user account will be created for you, giving you the ability to add and edit content on your website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>9.5 You are responsible for any changes made to your website using your WordPress account. We are not liable for errors, data loss, or disruption caused by client-made changes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>9.6 You must keep your WordPress login credentials secure and not share them with unauthorised third parties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>9.7 You agree not to add, upload, or publish any content to your website that is unlawful, defamatory, offensive, infringing of third party rights, or otherwise inappropriate. We reserve the right to take your website offline without notice if content in breach of this clause is identified. We will notify you promptly and work with you to resolve the issue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>9.8 If a client account is suspended due to a breach of clause 9.7, monthly payments remain due during the suspension period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Website Build Process<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10.1 Following approval of your demo and receipt of your first payment, we will begin development of your website using the content, logo, and materials you supply.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10.2 You are responsible for supplying all required content in a timely manner. Delays caused by late or incomplete content supplied by the client will not affect your billing start date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10.3 We include up to [X \u2014 suggest 2] rounds of revisions during the build process. Revision requests beyond this may be subject to an additional charge, which we will notify you of before proceeding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10.4 Once you have approved your completed website and it has gone live, any further structural or design changes will be treated as new work and quoted accordingly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Website Sign-Off and Go Live<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>11.1 Before your website goes live, we will request your formal approval via email. By confirming approval, you agree that the website has been delivered in accordance with the agreed brief.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>11.2 Once your website has gone live following your approval, it is considered delivered. Any subsequent structural or design changes will be treated as new work and quoted separately.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>11.3 If you do not respond to a go live approval request within 14 days, we reserve the right to make the site live and consider it delivered, unless you have notified us of a specific reason for the delay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Portfolio and Marketing<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>12.1 By agreeing to these terms, you grant GB Sites Ltd the right to display your completed website as part of our portfolio, including on our website and social media channels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12.2 We will always present your website professionally and in a positive context.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12.3 If you would prefer your website not to be featured in our portfolio or marketing materials, please notify us in writing at <a href=\"mailto:admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk\">admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk<\/a> and we will honour your request promptly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Confidentiality<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>13.1 Both parties agree to keep confidential any sensitive business information shared during the course of the agreement and not to disclose it to any third party without prior written consent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>13.2 This clause does not apply to information that is publicly available, or that is required to be disclosed by law.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>13.3 This confidentiality obligation remains in place for 2 years following the end of the agreement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Force Majeure<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>14.1 We will not be held liable for any failure or delay in delivering our services where that failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to server outages caused by third party providers, cyberattacks, natural disasters, power failures, or any other event outside our control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>14.2 In such circumstances we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and take all reasonable steps to resume normal service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Age and Authority<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>15.1 By agreeing to these terms, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>15.2 If you are entering into this agreement on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to do so and to bind that entity to these terms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Severability<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>16.1 If any clause or part of a clause in these terms is found by a court or other authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that clause or part will be severed from the remaining terms, which will continue in full force and effect.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>18.1 Basic on-page SEO is included as part of your website build. This is carried out at the time of build and is not an ongoing monthly service unless separately agreed in writing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>18.2 We do not guarantee specific search engine rankings. Search engine algorithms are controlled by third parties and results may vary. We are not liable for any loss of business arising from search engine performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Liability<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>12.1 We will carry out all services with reasonable skill and care.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12.2 We are not liable for any loss of business, loss of revenue, or indirect losses arising from your use of our services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12.3 Our total liability to you in connection with these terms shall not exceed the total amount paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12.4 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our negligence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>17.5 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer or business under the laws of England and Wales.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Governing Law<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>19.2 In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through direct communication before pursuing legal action, in accordance with the complaints procedure outlined in clause 6.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Changes to These Terms<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. We will notify existing clients of any significant changes with 30 days written notice.
